Please see the following announcement in regards to an upcoming event that everyone is welcome to attend:

The first academy event is this Sunday (January 11) at 1 pm at the AGM in BR.  The AGM will be held in Baton Rouge at the Holiday Inn South, which is located at the intersection of Airline Hwy. and I12  This event is a 2 hr clinic hosted by Bob Wertz entitled "Why Fouls Occur".  It gives insight into understanding what types of fouls occur where and why and leads to better understanding of player management.  While this is an academy event, it is NOT a closed event.  All academy events are open to anyone who chooses to attend.  The caveat is that only academy members who attend garnish the academy points, patches and pins associated with the event.   Let me be clear that this the academy is NOT exclusive to any group.  All are welcome to join the academy or participate without being a member.   Apparently, as a result of last night's discussion at CCSRA, some felt they could not attend the clinic because they were not members.  This is not the case.

Substitution Rule Change!

Effective Jan 1, LSA has changed substitution rules.  The reason for the change was to comply with Region 3 rules.  These rules will be the same as most of the states in the region use, as well as regionals, RPL, etc.

The new rule: (straight form LSA policy)

Substitutions shall be unlimited; however the 50% play rule shall be followed for Recreational teams. Substitutions may be made with the consent of the referee, at the following times:

1. Prior to a throw-in in your favor.

2. Prior to a goal kick by either team.

3. After a goal by either team.

4. After an injury by either team when the referee stops play.

5. At half time.

6. When the referee stops play to caution a player, only the cautioned player may be substituted prior to the restart of the game.

This rule will be required to be followed for all Premier League games, Premier friendlies, State Cups, and any state sanctioned tournament. With regard to Recreational and Division 1 games, the recently passed substitution policy is mandatory only for D1 State Cup games and Invitational tournaments, unless an exception has been approved by LSA.  It is not mandatory for in-house league games, inter-club league games (e.g., Metro League) or friendly games involving D1 and/or Rec. teams
